Verfolgung starten Optionen

dell 2405FPW mit Auflösung von 1920x1200 betreiben?

ich möchte meinen Dell 2405FPW mit der nativen Auflösung von 1920x1200 betreiben. OS ist SuSE 9.3, Sax2 macht da irgendwie nicht sinnvoll mit. (Graka ist eine Geforce4 TI 4400, die das laut Datenblatt auch kann)
In diversen Foren habe ich erfahren, dass in der /etc/x11/Xorg.conf eine Modeline hinzugefügt werden muss. Leider variieren die Angaben. Ausprobiert habe ich:
Modeline "1920x1200" 154.00 1920 1976 2008 2080 1200 1203 1209 1235 +hsync +vsync

Modeline "1920x1200" 154.128 1920 1968 2000 2080 1200 1203 1209 1235 -hsync -vsync

Letztere kommt mir am sinnvollsten vor, da auch das Datenblatt des Monitors Hsyinc und Vsinc bei dieser Auflösung mit +/- angiebt. Nur bringt mir das alles nichts. Egal welche Einstellung ich vornehme, ich sehe ein Bild, zwar in Auflösung 1920x1200, aber alles unscharf (man nehme ein Bild, mache es nochmal und lege es über das andere nur um ein paar millimeter nacht rechts versetzt - so sieht das Ganze bei mir aus, also unbrauchbar)

Was kann ich tun? Für Hilfe wäre ich natürlich sehr dankbar. Denn wer sich so einen Monitor zu Weihnachten schenkt ist natürlich erst glücklich, wenn er voll einsatzbereit ist ;-) (und Dell will mir nicht helfen:-(

Momentan muss ich mich mit schwarzen Balken rechts und links begnügen, weil nur eine Auflösung von 1600x1200 möglich ist.

Vielen Dank für die Hilfe, aber irgendwo ist der Wurm drin, ich bekomms einfach nicht hin. Für weitere Hilfe wäre ich also SEHR dankbar.

ich habe auch versucht NUR die Modline für 1920x1200 einzustellen und den vertical refresh mit genau 60 anzugeben, also alle anderene Auflösungen weggelassen, aber es bleibt das unscharfe Bild wie beschrieben.

Ich habe da keine genaue Ahnung. Wenn die Grafikkarte zwei Anschlüsse hat, ... KarstenW

Probiere mal folgendes: Wähle irgendeinen Monitior aus der Liste, der deine ... nemesis²
