Microsoft senkt Vista-Preise

Um die Vista-Verkaufszahlen anzukurbeln, hat sich Microsoft zu massiven Preissenkungen entschlossen. Die Preise für verschiedene Windows-Vista-Varianten sollen laut Microsoft weltweit gesenkt werden. Je nach Version soll der Preis um bis zu 50 Prozent fallen.

Für Deutschland ist diese Ankündigung witzlos, denn es geht hier nur um die so genannten „boxed“ Versionen, also Komplett-Versionen in Originalverpackung und telefonischem Support. Bereits seit einigen Jahren hat Deutschland beim Windows-Verkauf einen Sonderstatus.

Aufgrund eines Gerichtsurteils wurde Microsoft gezwungen, günstigere Windows-Versionen, die eigentlich nur für den Verkauf mit Komplett-Rechnern gedacht waren, auch einzeln zu verkaufen. Die werden als so genannte „System Builder“-Versionen verkauft, bieten vollen Leistungsumfang. Lediglich auf telefonischen Support muss verzichtet werden.
