Hi,

Could you please help me? I\'d like to now, which is the top CPU that fits into an ASUS P2L97 mainboard.
I saw some topics about this, but I can\'t speak german, so it wasn\'t very clear to me.
Is it possible to fit a Cel-766 into the mainboard? With a BIOS upgrade (1010.004) And which Slot1-FCPGA adapter is good for this?

it's not possible to run a coppermine-cpu in this board. so you have to take the fastest pre-coppermine-celeron. and this is, like ma-in said, the 533 celeron with PPGA socket. faster celerons need the FCPGA socket because they are coppermine's.
you could try the slot-1-to-socket-370-adaptor made by tekram, but i think you will get the same problems like i have. the CPU cannot run at its full speed because the board does not "like" this processor configuration. try it, but be aware. it could not work.
