Hi, may I tell you a story about this kind of experiences, which ones wouldn't forget for a long time.
Well, I bought this neat and cheap microprocessor from the well known company Intel. It was a Celeron 400MHz and my intention was to push it to its limit, you know, I wanted to read the 600 on my screen and fortunately I've made it, yeah!
Now, you're probably asking how... here's the solution:
Open your tower case and put your beloved computer on your balcony, it's important that the frosty air could easely blow in your computers case. Now make some changes in your BIOS, switch to the 100MHz FSB and rise the core voltage to 2.05V or above.
Reboot your system and start your favorite application, like Quake3 or something like that. After a while you'll realize that you're running a big machine with 600! MHz.That's cool, yeah.Open a bottle with Miller beer.Enjoy your life, spank your ....
My readings:
air temperture: approximately -3°C
motheboard temperature: 6°C
CPU temperature (thermal diode): 51°C (under heavy CPU activity)
My fear was that it could start to rain or to snow, so I decided to close my tower case ... the CPU temerature raised to 55°C and the computer produced two litte errors, while playing a MPEG4 video, but the OS didn't break down.
Now, what conclusion could or should I draw?
Should I buy a Peltier cooler and an additional power supply ?
Should I think about those high end coolers from Alpha ?
I wouldn't consider myself being a freak refering overclocking.(Oh, I love this first part of this sentence, quite sophisticated... ;-) .
Bye, Puffmutter.
BTW, is there an English teacher, who could correct my faults ? (Puffmutter)

Well OK. Write your stuff in English if you realy want to. But what's the point in doing that?

Antwort:
