ich möchte gern, faul wie ich bin, von meinem Sofa aus Kubuntu auf meinem Ferrnseher sehen. Es handelt sich dabei um einen Grundig 32 GLX 3922. Unter XP funktioniert es. Die Auflösung habe ich schon geändert, aber es erscheint immer "AUSSER REICHWEITE". Was mach ich falsch.

Ich nehme an das der Fernseher mit der falschen Zeilenfrequenz angesteuert wird. Die neuen Monitore haben in der Regel einen Datenrückkanal über den der Xserver die Monitordaten auslesen kann, damit der Monitor mit der richtigen Zeilenfrequenz angesteuert werden kann. Da gibt es auch einen DDC2 Standard, den der Monitor erfüllen muß , damit das alles richtig funktioniert.
Wenn der XServer diese Möglichkeit nicht hat, dann muß man den XServer manuell konfigurieren. Dazu kann man die Konfigurationsdatei /etc/X11/xorg.conf mit einem Editor bearbeiten. Oder man nutzt grafische Programme wie das im Ubuntu Wiki erklärt wird:

Man muß dazu die Monitordaten aus einem Handbuch entnehmen:
-horizontaler Frequenzbereich (Zeilenfrequenzbereich in kHz)
-vertikaler Frequenzbreich (Bildfrequenzbereich in Hz)
Ich kann dir meine xorg.conf Datei zum Vergleich posten. Ich habe sie unter Debian etch erstellt und sie wurde bei einem Upgrade auf Debian lenny und dann später Debian squeeze automatisch übernommen.
Ließ am besten mal die manpage von xorg.conf durch. man xorg.conf.
