hallo, ich möchte mir dieses (http://geizhals.at/deutschland/a398686.html) mainboard mit 780g chipsatz mit radeon hd 3200 igp kaufen. hat jemand einen solchen und kann mir berichten, ob es dafür unter kubuntu gute treiberunterstützung gibt? ich hab auch schon gesucht, aber ohne eindeutigem ergebnis.

Das Problem bei den neuen XServern ist die Konfiguration. Man muß keine /etc/X11/xorg.conf Datei mehr erstellen , aber die Röhrenmonitore werden ohne eine xorg.conf Datei mit maximaler Auflösung (auf Grund der sehr guten Hardwareerkennung vom neuen XServer) betrieben. Und das führt dann dazu das die Bildfrequenz sehr weit runter geht. Wenn aber eine /etc/X11/xorg.conf Konfigurationsdatei existiert, dann nimmt der XServer die Konfigurationsdaten aus dieser xorg.conf Datei.
Unter Debian etch kann man mit "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" den Monitor manuell konfigurieren. Bei Debian lenny geht das leider nicht mehr.
Unter Debian lenny muß man dann die /etc/X11/xorg.conf wieder mit einem Editor anpassen (wenn man einen Röhrenmonitor nutzt).
Und hier ist ein Beispiel für eine alte NVidia Grafikkarte mit einem 19 " Röhrenmonitor (Belinea 106065):
Ich habe diese xorg.conf unter Debian etch noch mit dpkg-reconfigure... erstellt, so das mir der Editor erspart geblieben ist. Debian lenny hat diese xorg.conf Datei übernommen, so das ich sie nicht noch einmal erstellen mußte (bei einem Versionsupgrade von einer alten stabilen Version auf die neue stabile Version versucht Debian immer einen sehr fließenden Übergang hinzubekommen)
