HELP: Medion PC & Firmware upgrade Pioneer DVD RW DVR-106D

freakie / 7 Antworten / Flachansicht Nickles

I have a new Medion PC (Desktop / P4 / 2.66 / XP-Home) standard equipped with a Pioneer DVD RW type DVR-106D. I want to upgrade the firmware of the Pioneer (from firmware 1.05 to 1.06), but when I do this I get the following message: “Available target is not found”.
I also tried a different installation method (exact so as you can read in the instructions), first boot my pc with a boot disk and then install from a floppy. Regrettably without any success, still the same message appears.

Also I downloaded the Pioneer Checker from the Pioneer site, so I  hoped I could  see if my Pioneer is an OEM product. But also the Checker can’t find my Pioneer and shows the message: “No DVD-RW drive was not found”.

Pioneer the and Medion Benelux doesn’t know the cause of this problem. A employee from Pioneer told me that it is a small possibility that my Pioneer is equipped with a “special Medion-Pioneer” firmware but he isn’t sure. Who can help me? Who can solve this problem?

Yes, I see the 1.06 in Windows and also in NERO and other burning programs. Is it possible to "see" the burner normaly and burn several DVD-RW's withou any problem when the IDE-cable isn't properly fitting in its Jacket?

normally not. SmallAl
