Q3 plötzlich fast unspielbar!!!

Es ist mir ja schon fast peinlich, aber ich muß nochmal mit der Speicherverwaltung von Q3 nerven:

mein System: PIII 700,128MB RAM, TNT2Ultra, Abit BE6 Rev.2, WD/IBM HD´s (beide UDMA akt.)

Alles lief bis vor kurzem bei 1024 (16bit) und allen Details völlig flüssig.
Seit ein paarTagen "frißt" Q3 jedoch mein gesamtes RAM bereits beim Programmstart. Die BOT- Modelle
können aus Speichermangel (low memory) nicht angezeigt werden, die Phase 'awaiting snapshot' kurz vor
Spielbegin dauert ca., 1Min!!! Im Spiel selber kommt es zu so schweren "Aussetzern, so daß es fast unspielbar wird.
Die Win386.swp ist nach kurz nach dem Spiel über 200MB groß!!
Wofür braucht Q3 soviel Speicher??????
Liegt´s an den OpenGL- Settings oder den Mainboard- BIOS Einstellungen?

p.s.: Ich habe die anderen Beiträge über Q3 in diesem Forum gelesen, habe also schon die Q3config auf 96Mb gesetzt,
den virtuellen Speicher hochgeschraubt und Det. 513 installiert. Ich habe leider keine CD und kann deshalb nicht neu
installieren...
