ich persönlich kann ja interprerten net ausstehen, die in einem lied ihren namen nennen, hervorheben und sich selbst preisen. sowas machen an sich nur hip-hopper - naja, und das dies nicht sonderlich niveauvoll ist, dürfte uns klar sein.

Ursprünglich kommt diese Hip-Hopper-Selbstbeweihräucherungs-Unsitte aus dem Jazz. Dort wurden Gesangs- bzw. Instrumentalsolo-Pausen dazu genutzt, die Band-Mitglieder vorzustellen ("...and on the drums: Omar Hakim!!"). Das hatte allerdings weniger mit Eitelkeit zu tun, sondern war eher ein Akt der Höflichkeit gegenüber den oft unscheinbar im Hintergrund agierenden Bandmitgliedern, z.T. auch Gastmusikern. Das haben die Hip-Hopper sich abgeschaut und ein nerviges Ritual daraus gemacht...
