Hi,
meiIch habe mir 128 MB Arbeitspeicher für mein Notebook gekauft, das Problem ist, wenn ich ihn einbaue startet es nur bis zum Bios-User Passwort, danach wird der Bildschrim von Ecken ausgehend langsam weiß. Ohne RAM läufts wunderbar.
Mache ich einen Fehler beim Einbau , oder ist irgendwas kaputt?
Ich hatte einen schon versuchsweise einen anderen Baustein im Notebook eingebaut, den erkennt er nicht, startet aber ganz normal.

Bios Upgrade Installation Instructions
Please note before updating the bios of your notebook computer:
- The AC adaptor must be connected to the unit
- The machine MUST be in BOOT mode, not Resume mode.
- Any power on passwords must be disabled.
- All PCMCIA cards must be removed from the system prior to upgrading the BIOS.
- The notebook computer must not be attached to any type of docking device.
Please follow the instructions below to update the bios:
1. Extract the bios file onto a diskette
2. Place the diskette in the floppy disk drive
3. While holding down the F12 key on the notebook itself, power up the notebook computer.
4. Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
It is not unusual to see a CMOS error when you first reboot the computer after
installing the new BIOS. If you see this message on your screen, press F1 as
instructed. This displays the "TSETUP" screen. Press

funktioniert aber nicht....
Das was sich ändert ist, dass das Notebook nicht mehr richtig anläuft (Lüfter bleibt still....) nur die On-LED leuchtet auf
Ohne zusätzlichen RAM läuft es nach wie vor wunderbar.

Ich habe auch einen Toshiba Satellite 4100 XCDT. Das Problem kommt mir leider sehr bekannt vor, denn ich wollte einen IBM 64MB Speicher einbauen. Alles läuft ganz normal, aber leider wird der Speicher nicht erkannt. Ich habe gedacht, bei mir wäre das ein Einzelfall, aber scheinbar ist das Problem weiter verbreitet. Ich würd mich auch auf Lösungen freuen.
