Koppix 5.3 auf HD - Fenster ohne Anfasser

Hallo zusammen,

bin seit einigen Tagen am testen von Knoppix 5.3 von der CT-DVD.
Läuft super, bin begeistert.

Aber:

Habe eben mit der entspr. Bootoption die DVD auf die Festplatte (hdb2) kopiert. Wenn ich nun Knoppix von der Festplatte starte, haben geöffnete Fenster keine Knöpfe zum Mini/Maximieren bzw. schliessen. Genauso lassen sie sich am Rand nicht mehr anfassen zum verschieben bzw. Grösse ändern. Compiz funktioniert, soweit man dazu kein Fenster anfassen muß.


Offene Fenster lassen sich also nur noch über das "Dokument"-Menü schliesen.

Hat jemand ähnlich bereits erlebt, ist das gar so gewollt?

Nachtrag: Sehe gerade, es fehlt die kompl. Titelleiste.

Du solltest im compiz-Fusion-Manager, dort im Settings-Manager das Plug-In "Windows-Decoration" auf enable setzten. Also Häckchen drann machen

Es empfiehlt sich immer, etwas Linux im Hause zu haben.

Hallo Onkel Alois,

Ich habe gestern auch die Knoppix DVD aus der ct beim Wickel gehabt und mit der Radeon 9600 in meinem Testsystem lief compiz-fusion super. Habe ich mich also darangesetzt und mein Gentoo-Testsystem auf dem gleichen Rechner damit einzurichten. Beim allerersten ersten Start von compiz hatte ich genau den von Dir beschriebenen Effekt.

LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 compiz --replace ccp

hat das Problem gelöst. Ich habe momentan noch mit der hohen Prozessorlast beim "Fensterln" zu tun, aber da gibt es ja auch noch Tips weiter unten, die ich noch nicht ausprobiert habe. Ich bin genau nach Anleitung vorgegangen (AIGLX) und arbeite mit der ATI Treibern. Für die Radeon 9600 sollte es allerdings auch mit dem integrierten Radeon Treiber von xorg funktionieren.

Soweit mein rudimentärer Erkenntnisstand. Ich bin noch weiter am testen.

Zum Tip von Repi - bei mir war Window decoration im Settingsmanager standardmäßig angehakt als es nichsauber funktionierte.

das hilft bei mir einfach als script und dann funzts aber nur bei gnome

Ich selbst betreibe compiz ohne Xgl sondern mit Xorg und eingeschaltetem AIGLX. Als Treiber benutze ich den properitären von ATI (fglrx)

Also gemessen an dem Thema "slow Compiz with high CPU load" habe ich doch kein Problem. Ich habe den A64 4000 auf "on demand" laufen wegen der überwiegend nicht benötigten vollen Rechenleistung (1000 Mhz statt 2400). Dann schnippt die Leistung beim Fenster diagonal vergrößern/verkleinern mal ganz kurz auf 100 %. Bei ständig voller Taktzahl sieht das dann überhaupt nicht mehr so dramatisch aus. Scheint in Summe alles im grünen Bereich zu sein.

ich habe mal meine xorg gegen Deine gecheckt, passt bei mir alles wie es auch bei Dir läuft und bei mir jetzt auch als angemessen identifiziert ist.

Ich danke Euch für die Hinweise, hatte allerdings noch keine Zeit das auszuprobieren. Grafikkarte wäre eine Radeon 9250, wie gesagt die 3D-Effekte funktionieren einwandfrei.

Allerdings muß ich noch hinzufügen, daß ich Knoppix nicht installiert habe, sondern nur mit der Bootoption "tohd=/def/hdb2" auf eine bestehende Partition kopiert habe und mit der Option "fromhd=/def/hdb2" dann wieder von CD bzw. Festplatte starte.

Ich werde das aber auf alle Fälle testen und Bescheid geben.
