Klar, Debian 4.0 hat 18000 Programmpakete. Da wird auch der Nautilus dabei sein.
Ich nehme gern den Midnight Commander.
Am besten du installiert synaptic:
"apt-get install synaptic"
In synaptic kannst du dann sehr schön nach Programmen suchen lassen:

Nautilus is the official file manager for the GNOME desktop. It allows
to browse directories, preview files and launch applications associated
with them. It is also responsible for handling the icons on the GNOME
desktop. It works on local and remote filesystems.

Wenn du Gnome Programm unter KDE installieren willst, dann kannst du das Gnome Controll Center mit installieren oder das Paket

Da erscheint dann im KDE Kontrollcenter ein Menüeintrag. Da kannst du dann einstellen, das die Gnomeprogramme so aussehen sollen wie die KDE Programme (Schriftart - und größe). Oder du konfigurierst die Gnomeprogramme mit dem Gnome Controll Center unter KDE.
Also du mußt nicht nur KDE Programme unter KDE nutzen.
Umgekehrt geht das natürlich auch.
Man kann unter Gnome auch KDE Programme starten.

Ich danke für die hilfreichen Infos. Am Wochenende werde ich dann Debian installieren.
Die DVD habe ich aus dem PC Magazin Linux. Den Rest dürfte ich ja dann im laufe der Zeit im Netz
finden. Meine "Home Partition" kann ich ja alles behalten was auch gut ist, denn so brauche ich nur
die neue Distribution Debian installieren.

Der ist bestimmt in den apt Repositorys dabei. Mit apt-get install nautilus-cd--burner wird wohl auch noch das
recht brauchbare nautilus Brennprogramm installiert.
Da ergibt sich die Frage ob es eine vernünftige Default Einteilung der Partitionen gibt.
Für die Boot ist es ja eigentlich sinnvoll eine eigene Partition anlegen.
und für ein Desktopsystem?
