D-Link PCMCIA-WLan Karte unter Kubuntu

Hey Leute, ich hab letztens von einem Bekannten ein Uralt Laptop (PII 300MHz 256MB Ram und 40GB Festplatte) bekommen.
So dann hatte ich erstmal XP drauf gespielt (und zu meinem Erstaunen lief es richtig gut!!).
Da dieses Notebook abe keine interne Lankarte hat, hab ich mir ne WLan PCMCIA Karte geholt. Lief unter XP auch richtig gut.

Dann hab ich mir gesternnoch zusätzlich Kubuntu installiert.
Hab dann rausgefunden das WLan mit Linux nicht so leicht zu installieren ist. Also ndiswrapper auf dem ArbeitsPC heruntergeladen und mit Diskette auf den Laptop gebracht und installiert (hat auch wunderbar geklappt)
Nur leider scheint Kubuntu die komplette PCMCIA Karte nicht zu erkennen (Link Lampe leuchtet nicht + im Infocenter unter PCMCIA sind beide Slots auf EMPTY)

Gibt es da nen Trick das man PCMCIA erst aktivieren muss oder so??
Also die WLan Karte ist eine D-Ling AirPlus G (DWL-G630).

Kubuntu gefällt mir echt gut, aber ohne WLan kann es leider nicht bleiben, also bitte bitte helft mir =)

Ich benutze Debian testing und stable. Ich glaube diese Karte kannst du mit dem Treiber "Hermes chipset 802.11b support (Orinoco/Prism2/Symbol) " zum Laufen bringen. Das Problem wird sein das dieser Treiber noch als experimentell angesehen wird und wahrscheinlich nicht in den Standardkern konpiliert wurde. Er ist also nur als Sourcecode verfügbar. Du müßtes also einen eigenen Kern kompilieren und diesen Treiber aktivieren. Ich weiß aber nicht genau , ob dieser Treiber eventuell doch schon im Standardkern ist. Hier ist die Online Hilfe des Treibers:

Aber ist es denn richtig, dass nichtmal die Linklampe leutet an der PCMCIA??
Müsste die denn nicht wenigstens an gehen??

Weil wie gesagt n Windowstreiber hab ich ja mid ndiswrapper schon installiert!

Ich benutze kein WLAN. Ich würde aber versuchen erstmal einen nativen Linux-Treiber zu installieren.
Vielleicht ist der Prism-Treiber schon als Modul kompiliert. Die kernelmodule sind unter /lib/modules(kernel??? installiert.

Der ndiswrapper scheint auch nicht mit jedem Windowstreiber zu funktionieren.

Mir ist ein Fehler passiert. Es war der falsche Treiber. Der müßte richtig sein:
