Hallo, liebe Experten!
Vor dem Schreiben schalte ich unter W7 normalerweise mit Fn/F8 das Touchpad meines Notebooks aus, damit der Cursor nicht willkürlich umherspringt. Das ist nach jedem Neustart und wohl auch nach jeder Rückkehr aus dem Ruhezustand erforderlich. Manchmal vergesse ich diesen Handgriff und muss dann die verirrten Buchstaben mühsam sortieren.
Ist es möglich, das ausgeschaltete Touchpad als Default einzustellen und dies nur bei (seltenem) Bedarf zu ändern?

Was für ein Notebook hast Du denn überhaupt?
Ich hab das Touchpad bei meinem ThinkPad gleich im BIOS deaktiviert, weil ich nur den TrackPoint nutze. Sofern Du kein zweites eingebautes Zeigegerät hast kommt das aber wahrscheinlich nicht in Frage?

The workaround is installing the Windows Vista driver and use the driver settings to disable Tapping on the touchpad while typing. We are presently working on getting an updated driver to fix this issue.
NOTE 1: Customers have to uninstall the driver currently running in their systems before installing the new driver. Once the new driver is installed, follow the instructions below to set the Tapping setting.
1. Click START on Windows Taskbar
2. Select Control Panel
3. Click on Hardware and Sound
4. Under DEVICES and PRINTERS (top of the window), click on MOUSE
5. Select the Tapping TAB
6. Check the setting that says: "Disable touchpad while typing".
This will disable the touchpad when the user is typing, preventing the mouse pointer from moving around randomly. The final solution will be an actual Windows 7 driver that will have (or should have) the same Tapping settings.
NOTE 2: The Alps driver we have is the same for all systems with ALPS touchpad, based on feedback we received from development in China. In other words, if the support web site for the specific system (example Y560) does not provide a Windows Vista driver for the touchpad, we can use the ones we have available for G550 and G450.

Der aktuelle Alps Pointing-device W7 Driver müßte das auch können:

Und man kann da wählen, daß das TouchPad abgeschaltet wird, wenn ne Maus gesteckt wird.

Herzlichen Dank für Tipps und Quellenangaben,
Allerdings steht da, dass der Treiber nur für IE ist und man für Firefox anderswo klicken muss. Ich nutze aber Google Chrome.
Und wieso ist das überhaupt relevant? Mir geht es doch um Offline-Tippen. Ist da gemeint, mit anderen Browsern kann man den Treiber nicht herunterladen? Das wäre egal, ich habe IE auch da.
Wie Du merkst, sehe ich nicht durch, aber das wird im Forum oft so sein.

Der TouchPad Treiber hat mit dem Browser aber auch überhaupt nix zu tun und das steht da auch nicht.
Solltest dir nen anderen Übersetzer suchen.
